RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LECTURERS AND STUDENTS.

Image
It's quite a displeasure seeing Lecturers and their students loosing taste of a real relationship. If the students are not good, check their lectures and guiding counselors. Lecturers and guiding counselors are like parents to their students and not like a lion and a goat to each other respectively. The lecturers and guiding counselor are to bear in mind that they are training the future leaders who will rule, lead and govern the country and hold international positions in different sectors and places round the world. Therefore, they should input their best to ensure that the future is safe by giving good and adequate training to their students. It's quite unpleasant noticing that some lecturers choose to hurt their students directly and indirectly which brings in the negative components that break good relationship. Thus giving a different sense to their responsibility and understanding to their students. In addition, it's a poor attitude to professionalism

Shocking ways Nigerian universities reward best graduating students

Image
In 2017, when Best Somadina, living up to his name, emerged the Mass Communication Best Graduating Student from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly known as Anambra State University, he knew he would get a stream of awards. But the items he got left him bemused: a tuber of yam, a fowl and a certificate. “People expected me to get a gift related to books, but when I got yam and fowl they started laughing, wondering whether I’m a native doctor. If I had got a laptop, or N500,000 to help me for Master’s degree, it would have made more sense,” he said later in an interview with  BBC . Bamisaye Tosin has a similar story. He got N200 for being the  best graduating student (BGS) at the Ekiti State University’s (EKSU) Department of Civil Engineering.. Although, Mr Bamisaye told PREMIUM TIMES he was not discouraged, many class-top graduates like him are no longer impressed with the reward system for academic excellence in Nigeria.

Okorocha said this while reacting to the crisis rocking the party in Edo state where the state governor, Godwin Obaseki and APC National chairman and Obaseki’s predecessor, Adams Oshiomole, are battling for control of the party in the state. Just yesterday, political thugs attacked the state governor, the Oba of Lagos and some dignitaries that attended a function at Oshiomole’s residence. Speaking to journalists in Kano state yesterday November 2nd, Okorocha said any political party that has the level of internal crisis being experienced in the ruling party is bound to fail. A political party should be a group of people who share common political interest and beliefs; people who pursue a common goal or common objective for the good of the common man. That will be my understanding of a political party, but

Staring at women’s breasts makes men live longer, healthier – Study

Image
A study done by a German scientist, Karen Weatherby, and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, has revealed that staring at women’s breasts is healthy and also elongates the life span of men. The study, which was carried out over a period of five years, involved 500 men, half of whom were instructed to stare at women’s breasts in a lustful manner for no less than 10 minutes every day. The other half were instructed to abstain from doing such. It concluded that men who stared at breasts, more often, showed lower rates of heart problems, slower resting heart rate and lower blood pressure, all of which enable a healthy living and long life. The study said men should stare at breasts for 10 minutes a day to improve the wellness of their hearts and live longer. “Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female every day is roughly equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out,” the study revealed. When the two groups of men were tested, men that sta

The umbrella group of youth leaders in the South East geopolitical zone, under the umbrella of the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) has said that it is either the presidency for the Zone in 2023 or nothing. The group emphatically demanded that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, should cede the presidency to the South East zone in 2023 at the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent President, Muhammadu Buhari. The youth coalition warned that refusal of any big political party to zone the presidency to the South East in 2023 simply means swimming against the tide of the curriculum of democracy in Nigeria. This was contained in a statement issued by the President-General of the group, Chief Goodluck Ibem, and made available to newsmen in Umuahia on Saturday. Image
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has blasted President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his Independence Day broadcast as an insult on the psyche of Nigerians. The party said the broadcast was a mockery of the nation’s integrity as an independent state. According to the PDP, Buhari’s speech was completely unpresidential, lacking in patriotic stance and replete with manifest inconsistencies, contradictions, paradoxes and false performance claims. This was contained in a statement Tuesday signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan. It said “President Buhari, in his recorded address, failed to forcefully address the key issues of freedom, social justice, constitutional order, separation of powers, rule of law, human rights, credible elections, national cohesion, accountability and transparency in government.” The party noted that “President Buhari ignored these very fundamentals of an independent state, because his administration had violated t
