  Joint National Assembly Committee On Aviation Visits Anambra International Cargo And Passenger Airport, Commends Governor Obiano  By Ejike Abana (ABS Government House Correspondent)  The Joint Committee on Aviation of the National Assembly has commended Governor Willie Obiano for the level of work at the ongoing  Anambra Cargo and International Airport.  Members of the Committee including, Hon. Smart Adeyemi, Hon. Nnolim Nnaji, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, Hon. Jubilation rocked Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital after Governor David Nweze Umahi paid civil servants the new minimum wage of N30,000 With this, it’s crystal clear that Ebonyi has taken the lead in the states that aligned with the Federal Government and Nigeria Labour Congress agreement for the new minimum wage of 30,000 Naira. Governor Umahi on his last 2019 EXCO meeting promised that workers in Ebonyi State will start receiving the new minimum wage, effective January 1st, 2020, a promise which he further confirmed when he directed the State Accountant General and LGAs Chairmen to seek for overdraft and ensure the payment of Ebonyi workforce, the January salaries which must reflect the new minimum wage on January 10th to enable them start the new year with ease.

German television evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke, has died. He was aged 79. A post on Saturday on his ministry’s Facebook page, Reinhard Bonnke- Official Page, announced the passing of the Pentecostal minister. “It is with sorrow that the Bonnke Family would like to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke,” the post read. “He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 7, 2019.” “For the past 60 years he has preached the glorious Gospel of Jesus throughout the entire world. We want to thank you on behalf of him and our family, for your kind love and unwavering support, which enabled him to preach the matchless message of salvation to countless people,” the post noted. It's quite a displeasure seeing Lecturers and their students loosing taste of a real relationship. If the students are not good, check their lectures and guiding counselors. Lecturers and guiding counselors are like parents to their students and not like a lion and a goat to each other respectively. The lecturers and guiding counselor are to bear in mind that they are training the future leaders who will rule, lead and govern the country and hold international positions in different sectors and places round the world. Therefore, they should input their best to ensure that the future is safe by giving good and adequate training to their students. It's quite unpleasant noticing that some lecturers choose to hurt their students directly and indirectly which brings in the negative components that break good relationship. In 2017, when Best Somadina, living up to his name, emerged the Mass Communication Best Graduating Student from Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), formerly known as Anambra State University, he knew he would get a stream of awards. But the items he got left him bemused: a tuber of yam, a fowl and a certificate. “People expected me to get a gift related to books, but when I got yam and fowl they started laughing, wondering whether I’m a native doctor. If I had got a laptop, or N500,000 to help me for Master’s degree, it would have made more sense,” he said later in an interview with  BBC . Bamisaye Tosin has a similar story. He got N200 for being the  best graduating student (BGS) at the Ekiti State University’s (EKSU) Department of Civil Engineering.. Although, Mr Bamisaye told PREMIUM TIMES he was not discouraged, many class-top graduates like him are no longer impressed with the reward system for academic excellence in Nigeria.

Senator Rochas Okorocha has expressed fear that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), may go into extinction by the time President Buhari’s tenure expires in 2023. Okorocha said this while reacting to the crisis rocking the party in Edo state where the state governor, Godwin Obaseki and APC National chairman and Obaseki’s predecessor, Adams Oshiomole, are battling for control of the party in the state. The public has been urged to disregard the statement by Bricks Company on Operation Positive Identification. Nigerian Army’s Acting Director of Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa stated that the ongoing operation positive identification is intelligence driven, deliberate and a targeted operation in the northeast region. Some persons associated with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) have gone on rampage closing shops belonging to foreigners in commercial hubs in Kumasi in the Ashanti region. The closure that begun from Alarbar spread to Adhye and Kejetia Wednesday. The Ashanti Regional President of the Nigerian Association of Traders Union told otecNews he has asked his nationals not to retaliate when the errant people beseech their shops. A study done by a German scientist, Karen Weatherby, and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, has revealed that staring at women’s breasts is healthy and also elongates the life span of men. The study, which was carried out over a period of five years, involved 500 men, half of whom were instructed to stare at women’s breasts in a lustful manner for no less than 10 minutes every day. The other half were instructed to abstain from doing such. It concluded that men who stared at breasts, more often, showed lower rates of heart problems, slower resting heart rate and lower blood pressure, all of which enable a healthy living and long life. The study said men should stare at breasts for 10 minutes a day to improve the wellness of their hearts and live longer. “Just 10 minutes of staring at the charms of a well-endowed female every day is roughly equivalent to a 30-minute aerobics work-out,” the study revealed.
