BREAKING!!! FG Makes U-turn On CJN Onnoghen’s Case

The Presidency may intervene in the case involving the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, Igbere TV can authoritatively report. The Chief Justice is billed to appear before the Code Of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for trial on Monday, over allegations bothering on non-declaration of assets. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and National Judicial Council (NJC) have condemned the proposed trial of the Chief Justice. Igbere TV reports that the CJN particularly said “Justice Onnoghen will not appear before any tribunal until the laid down procedures (for prosecuting CJNs) has been strictly followed.” Similarly, the South South Governors Forum has condemned the order issued the CJN to vacate his office, allegedly by the Federal Government.
